“My Habitat”

My Habitat Products have been developed over several years on the Atherton Tablelands to meet the requirements of local conditions.  They contain no petrochemicals or other toxins, just natural food acid, coconut surfactants and pure essential oils. The range includes everything you need to keep your home fresh and clean without the use of toxic chemicals. My Habitat Products contain no petrochemicals or other synthetics.  Active ingredients are 100% pure essential oils in a base of food acid and/or a natural surfactant madefrom coconuts. Safe for your health and the environment.  The concept was developed by researching what people used before the advent of petrochemicals and was created and developed for North Queensland conditions.

Camellia Seed Oil

Camellia oil has a reputation for being one of the most soothing and restorative oils for the skin, hair, and body. Camellia oil can offer a raft of benefits.
It is widely used in skincare products because of the numerous benefits of oils and plant extracts; it provides critical nutrients, antioxidants, fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, and oftentimes, anti-microbial effects.
In a 2013 study, the unsaturated fatty acid content in camellia oil was shown to reach as high as 90 percent. Alongside that statistic, camellia oil (also known as tea oil) showed high amounts of catechin (a natural phenol and antioxidant), saponin, and squalene (an omega oil), which all have good whitening, anti-oxidation, anti-permeability, analgesic (pain reducing), and anticancer properties.
* Skin Nourishment
Camellia seed oil has one of the highest nutritional values of all the botanically sourced oils, filled with omega-9 fatty acids, antioxidants, polyphenols, vitamin E, plant collagen, and proteins. Even better, the molecular structure of these fatty acids and lipids within Camellia oil matches those of your skin, meaning the oil sinks in readily and doesn’t leave a trace of residue.
** Anti-Inflammatory
While the nutritional benefits of camellia oil are historically known, its anti-inflammatory benefits are not. Camellia oil actively helps your skin rebound from your skin’s natural response to cellular injury. As the skin continuously experiences environmental and other stressors, inflammation is always a risk to your skin’s health.
*** Anti-Aging
Through the natural process of aging and the accumulation of sun damage, skin begins to lose its youthfulness. Without antioxidant support, oxidation (as a result of free radicals) will begin to occur, alongside wrinkles and sunspots. The nourishing and anti-inflammatory mechanisms of camellia oil will both protect the skin and prevent this process from readily occurring.
**** Reduces Acne & Prevents Breakouts
While one of the typical approaches to rid acne is to shy away from any product containing oil, it is one of the most beneficial ingredients in helping your skin to heal. Due to camellia oil’s nutritional value, molecular structure, and anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties, it can help your skin recover without harsh chemicals and dryness. Dryness will only exacerbate spots and bad breakouts.
